LET’S CREATE SOMETHING

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Each portrait I create is hand-painted with professional materials, care, and prayer. I aim to capture the soul of your pet, loved one, or home — not just their likeness. From first inquiry to final brushstroke, I keep the process collaborative, thoughtful, and full of heart.

Why Choose ME

Because I don’t just paint what I see- I paint what you feel

  • I specialize in capturing the heart behind your story — the quirks of your pet, the light in your home, the love in your memories.
  • Every piece is painted by hand, with prayer, intention, and a deep desire to create something worthy of the love you’re honoring.
  • I bring decades of artistic experience, education in fine art and art history, and most importantly: heart.
  • My work isn’t about photorealism so your commission will be one-of-a-kind in a world full of AI art that looks like everyone else’s work.

THE PROCESS:

Reference Photos

Great photo = great portrait!

I recommend sending 2–5 clear images with good lighting and true coloring. I also love hearing about personality quirks — the more I know, the better I can see your pet or subject through the paint.

Approving the Sketch

we are a team!

Before I paint, I’ll send a digital sketch or layout for approval. This is your chance to request any major changes to pose, background, or composition. Once you approve the sketch, I’ll begin painting — and small tweaks can still be made during the process!

Receive your Commission

whenever you need it!

Every painting is sealed with a certificate of authenticity, carefully packaged, and shipped to you with tracking and love. I’ll send photos of the finished piece before shipping so you know exactly what’s coming your way. If you need it by a certain date just let me know. Rush orders for same week can be added on in the commission form. Pickups are available for local clients in Ohio.

The results

Clients often tell me, “You really saw them.”

What my clients say

Ready to get started?

You have the idea- I’ll help you bring it to life

Each painting is priced based on size, complexity, and time. A non-refundable 30% deposit is due at the time of booking to hold your spot. The remaining balance is due when your painting is complete, before shipping. I accept PayPal and will send your invoice after details are confirmed. Pricing is in the commission form. Click below!

My typical turnaround time is 2-4 weeks, but I will give you a more accurate timeline when we discuss your project. Need it sooner for a special occasion? Just ask — I do my best to accommodate deadlines when possible.

Want your piece ready to hang? I offer handcrafted floating wood frames in your choice of stain (natural pine, walnut, or espresso). You can also add-on high-quality prints or digital scans of your portrait to share with family and friends.

Because I’m based in Ohio, sales tax is added to all orders shipped within the state. This will be included in your final invoice.

All artwork remains the intellectual property of Monica Larson Phillips / MLP Studio. I retain the right to share images of the final artwork for portfolio, print, or promotional use — unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Clients may not reproduce or sell the artwork without express permission. If you’d like to license the image for personal or commercial use, just reach out!

Because each portrait is a custom piece of art, deposits are non-refundable once the painting has begun. If you need to cancel before I start the sketch, your deposit can be credited toward a future project.
